Mums of Point Cook

In the lead up to Mother’s Day, we wanted to get to know some of the awesome mums who work at our centre. We asked 14 mums to share their stories with us & now we’ll be sharing them with you.

We caught up with Danielle from Crossroads, who has two boys.

What’s the best gift you’ve received for Mother’s Day? :
Both my boys gave me handmade presents; a picture frame with designs engraved around it & a beaded bracelet. It was a total surprise & very heartfelt.
Who’s a mum that you admire? :
My stepsister, Leanne. She’s done everything for her two girls, all on her own. The girls are beautiful, well mannered. I get a lot of advice off her. She’s a wonder woman.
Best advice that she’s given you? :
Gosh she’s given me a lot:
• Don’t expect too much.
• All kids are different.
• Just because they play up or do something wrong doesn’t mean they don’t love you.
What has surprised you about motherhood? :
Unconditional love. Last night my son just sits there & he goes “I love you mum”, I had an old windcheater on he goes; “you look really pretty”. Oh my gosh, I’m in my bumming around clothes & he said that.
What is you biggest hope for your kids?:
To achieve everything that they want in life, just to be happy, to be safe & make good choices.
