Dads of Point Cook: Ferry

In the lead up to Father’s Day, we wanted to get to know some of the awesome dads who work at our centre. We asked 14 dads to share their stories with us & now we’re sharing them with you.
We caught up with Ferry from Woolworths, dad of two.

What’s the best Father’s Day gift that you have received?:

A mug, the first time I became a father. So I was pretty excited when I got the first mug. I have two kids, one is two years old & the other is one year old.

What has surprised you about being a dad?
Becoming a dad is a lot of responsibility. After you finish work, you play with them. My little girl, she’s close to me, needs more attention. So every time I come home, she always runs to me for a hug, it’s pretty good.

The best piece of parenting advice that you’ve received?
Be patient with kids, because sometimes they change moods, especially when they get older, more naughty. But that’s what my family taught me, be patient with the kids, cause it’s a process, getting older, getting better.

What’s your biggest hope for your kids?
Hopefully they become better people. We try to teach them from when they’re small, hopefully as a teenager they remember what we teach them, so they’re a good person in society.

Who’s a dad that you admire?
My dad. Because he’s passing on the tradition of becoming a better person.
