Dads of Point Cook: Nick

In the lead up to Father’s Day, we wanted to get to know some of the awesome dads who work at our centre. We asked 14 dads to share their stories with us & now we’re sharing them with you.

We caught up with Nick from The Coffee Club, dad of 1

What’s the best Father’s Day gift that you have received?:

Last year, when I got home from work, all the pictures with my daughter were on the wall in a big frame.

What has surprised you about being a dad?

Sometimes it’s hard to be a dad at home, you can’t sleep, but you need to wake up happy. (I’m learning) how to manage it. At the moment it’s getting easier, better than before.

What’s your biggest hope for your daughter?

I want my daughter to be a sporty person. To always play something, maybe choose something like boxing or maybe be an athlete. Yeah I love sport & the gym.

The best piece of parenting advice that you’ve received?

Being a father, try to give your kids as much time as you can after work. Talk to them, sit with them instead of using your phone.

Do you have a good Dad joke?

Sometimes my daughter, she kisses me & says that my kisses are better than mum’s ones, she always says mums kiss is sweeter than dad’s one. That’s the joke we have every day.

Who’s a dad that you admire?

Of course, my dad. He helped me, he worked hard all the time. I’m from India so he worked really hard to help us to get here, all the kids are in Australia. Every year they come to visit.
