In the lead up to Father’s Day, we wanted to get to know some of the awesome dads who work at our centre. We asked 14 dads to share their stories with us & now we’re sharing them with you.
We caught up with Rob from Rebel Sport, dad of 1.
What’s the best Father’s Day gift that you have received?:
It’d be a homemade book, done by my wife with photos of myself & my daughter. She created a story through it.
What has surprised you about being a dad?
I get surprised every day to be honest. She’s only young, so she’s still coming out with new words, sayings & things like that.
What’s your biggest hope for your daughter?
Just to be happy & healthy. It might be a boring thing but it’s the truth.
The best piece of parenting advice that you’ve received?
Probably to be happy to accept help when it’s offered. Don’t be too proud to ask for help when you need it.
Do you have a good Dad joke?
Why don’t you see elephants hiding in the bushes?
Because they’re so good at it.
Who’s a dad that you admire?
I mean it’d be my own dad, he passed away before I became a dad so it’s a little bit different in that sense. My dad was one of nine boys so all of my uncles, in different ways over the years have been there for me too.
