Meet Ryan and the team at Telstra Point Cook and get to know more about the people who are making sure you stay connected. 

Tell us about your store?

We are your locally owned Telstra Store, who has been actively involved within the Point Cook community for over 10 years led by store manager, Ryan. 

We are a close knit team who thrive on our purpose of being a ‘Communications advisor providing genuine advice and solutions with integrity’. We are a values based company who believe in Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence in Customer Experience across our teams located all around Victoria (Moonee Ponds, Waurn Ponds, Geelong CBD, Leopold and along with our Telstra Business Technology Centres in Hoppers Crossing, West Footscray and Geelong).

We are here to help our community with their telco, and technology needs. We thoroughly enjoy the relationships we have formed over the years, and we get excited about meeting the new people that walk into our store.

What products, services or experiences do you offer?  

Representing the Telstra brand, we offer a range of products and services across personal, and business such as:

Mobile phones
Tablets and Mobile Broadband
Broadband such as NBN, ADSL, Cable, Fibre etc (depending on what is available on specific areas)
Foxtel
Security solutions for your devices
IT support
Wide range of the latest accessories that keep you connected whilst on the go

More importantly, we offer a genuine personal service and strive to assist whenever you visit us in our store. We know how daunting it can be to address some of your telco and technology needs, our main priority is to make it as easy and simple as possible. 

What do you love about your store?

There are a lot of things to love about my store, but the main two that I really love are the people who I work with who I call family, and of course the local and familiar faces that continue to visit us throughout the years.

We have been a very fortunate store in that we have a number of team members that have been in our store for over 10 years. This has allowed us to connect with our customers even more as we have become very familiar with each other over the years. 

The people within, and the people that come in our store is what I love about Telstra Point Cook.

What do you love about our local community?

There are a lot of things to love about our local community, but for me personally, I love how diverse and welcoming we are as a community. I have lived in the western suburbs all of my life since moving to Australia back in 1991 and I have enjoyed experiencing the growth of our community through various cultures.

In Point Cook in particular, I love how our local community is brought together through various cultures and festivals such as the Lunar New Year, and the Pop Up Park where we get to experience different cultures through food and performances on the streets of Point Cook. These days, we don’t have to travel too far to be able to enjoy our local restaurants that have been brought to us from all areas of the world.

From a store level, I love meeting our famous Point Cook Residents who have been the pioneers of our community from day one, as well as the ones who literally just landed from overseas. I love how people can quite easily integrate themselves within our community and also contribute in a positive and meaningful way.

How have you coped with COVID-19 and what are you looking forward to?

Covid-19 has certainly been challenging for all of us in general as it has changed we do things at home, at work, and our communities. Early on the year, as we saw what was happening in epicentres around the world, and we had a feeling that Australia would also face the same restrictions at some point. We kept up-to-date with Government and World Health Organisations advice and guidelines, and wanted to be proactive as possible in putting in place measures within our stores that promote health, social distancing, good hygiene and constant cleaning of areas.

We felt that we had a big responsibility to our local community (be it Point Cook, and other stores within Stocklands Point Cook) to continue to service them as best as we can especially in the times where working from home, and home schooling was going to become the ‘new normal’.

Under the circumstances, we have coped as best as we could, and we are grateful for our local customers who continued to seek our assistance during challenging times. We are thankful for your understanding in some of the limitations we had during the peak of Covid-19 and loved the smiles and workds of encouragement we received along the way.

We did miss some of our neighbours who were closed during a period of time, but glad to see them back in Stocklands Point Cook.

We are definitely looking forward to everyone getting back to the swing of things as we practice social distancing. We are excited to see the many locals that walk around the Stocklands Point Cook, and very eager to show you all what we have been up to over the last month. We have a new store coming, and we are still located in the same place as before.
