Retailer: Huy, owner of Babycino on Main

Most people can't start their day without their coffee from Babycino. Hoy and the team at Babycino share their story and took the time from making lattes and juices to tell us more up their cafe and what they love about their shop and customers.

Tell us about your store?

We are a family owned and operated café specialising in healthy food as well as café styled favourite foods and of course delicious and organic coffee. Our great location and being so close to three gyms really inspired us to have a more health based menu. By listening to our customer and researching today’s healthy food, snacks and drinks we also our Healthy Range includes acai bowls, protein shakes and balls and freshly squeezed juice. Our acai bowls are definitely a favourite as our customers can order them to their liking and needs from a fitness perspective.

How have you coped with COVID-19 and what are you looking forward to?

We have stayed open the whole time offering take away food and drinks to our customers. At the beginning of the pandemic, it was very quiet, but when people realised we were still open, our regulars came back. During this time, we were also offering discounted tea and coffee delivered to our fellow retailers in the centre, I feel this helped lift morale during this time.
We are most looking forward to customers being able to dine in at our café again, we miss the hustle and bustle and seeing our customers enjoying themselves.

What’s three words that describe your store?

Healthy, friendly, energetic.

What do you love most about your job?

I love seeing our regular customers as well as meeting new ones. The local community have been great throughout this uncertain time by supporting a local and family owned business like us.

What feedback to you get from your customers?

“I can’t start the day without my coffee from Babycino” – this is also why we open early, so we can cater to everyone and make their coffees so they can go on and take on the day.

What did you wish customers knew before they visited your cafe?

Before visiting us, most people think we’re just a normal coffee and cake café, but we serve more than just coffee with a huge focus on healthy living and options all whilst using organic and fresh produce.
