On Saturday October 29, Stockland Shellharbour proudly hosted its inaugural CARE Day, held to support two of Stockland’s CARE Foundation partners – Redkite and Touched by Olivia.
The day was a great success, with much needed funds raised for these two worthy charities, through sales of beautiful butterfly wings and of course red kites for the children.
The kids were entertained with face painting, a very clever balloon artist and a craft table where they could create interesting origami.
A selfie wall featuring a colourful backdrop of a brilliant blue sky and brightly coloured butterflies helped to produce some amazing pictures of the children wearing their butterfly wings or flying their kite.
Red Kite offers much needed support to young cancer patients and their families throughout the whole treatment journey, through information, education and carer support, financial assistance as well as counselling.
Touched By Olivia is a vital organisation whose focus is on inclusive play spaces for all children, particularly those with disabilities. The charity has created over 19 inclusive play spaces, called ‘Livvi’s Place’ throughout Australia, that are designed and constructed on the premise that every child needs to play.
