Behind bars was the place to be on Thursday 6th April, when Stockland Shellharbour supported the PCYC major fund raising event - ‘Time 4 Kids’. Participants were ‘locked up’ in a mock jail and decked out in prison clothes, shaking a tin cup to entice passers-by to donate ‘bail money’. Prisoners were released once they raised $500.
It was a fun day with all monies raised going to youth development and police crime prevention programs for local youth. In NSW alone there are over 60 clubs where dedicated case managers work with young offenders and ‘at risk’ youths to help improve skills, provide leadership and prevent crime involving young people.
