Meet Mason from Ferguson Plarre

Tell us about your store?
We are a small bakehouse that provides hot drinks and baked goods to our guests as well as cakes for their occasion.

I'd like to think that with every small cake and coffee we provide a bit a little dose of daily happiness to our guests.

What products, services or experiences do you offer?
We offer all sorts of baked goods whether it's savoury (variety of pies) or small cakes with coffee for an evening treat as well as celebration cakes of all sorts for any occasion. We do offer table service so the guests can take minute to sit and relax with a nice cup of coffee and unwind for a bit.

Regarding your store type, what are customers wanting right now?
These days the world being what it is, I guess customers are looking for a bit of happiness in their day to day lives, we understand that and try to create a friendly and accommodating environment with  smaller cakes for their smaller gatherings.

What do you love about our local community?
We have lovely and friendly community here and I am very grateful to be part of it, during these times I had regular guests that visited try to support us and asked how we are doing for the most part have nice encouraging words that would make your day instantly better.

How have you coped with COVID-19 and what are you looking forward to?
COVID-19 introduced a difficult time in everyone's life, we tried to keep our spirits up, create a safe, clean and happy atmosphere, we dubbed the moto " bake people happy" and tried not only providing comfort food but also by wearing colourful clothes and or even customs, bring a bit of smile to people's face, this has helped us a lot as seeing a guest smile and feeling that they are having a moment of happiness would have brighten up our days too and gave us motivation to carry on.

What are some must-have items, services or experiences right now?
Right now, I am happy to say that we have some exciting range of products, Raspberry éclair for instance is sensational as well as our raspberry vanilla cannoli, but most importantly maybe is our Salvation army red shield appeal biscuits.

It’s never been more important for us to help The Salvation Army in their fundraising - the bulk of funds raised during the Red Shield Appeal are collected via door knocking, something they simply can’t do this year. So This year we’ve created a jam filled shortbread biscuit iced with the traditional Salvation Army logo, and $1 from sale of each of these $2 biscuits will be donated to salvation army.
