Boxing Day Sales Survival Guide

Category: fashion and beauty

Make it through the madness!

Shopping, an often cathartic exercise, is made complicated by the Summer sales. On Boxing Day, many not-so-brave shoppers opt to stay home instead of facing the crowds, missing out on incredible deals in the process. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Whether you’re a shopping fanatic or a boyfriend-in-tow, here’s how to survive the Boxing Day sales at Stockland.
The shopaholic
Let’s face it, fashion is your middle name. No matter the time of year, we’re guaranteed to find you knee deep in a department store. Come Boxing Day, chances are you are ready to hit the shops in full force. While you most likely don’t like to let planning get in the way of perusing, we recommend searching for a copy of your Stockland Centre Directory and create a vague outline of your favourite stores – that way you can prioritise where to go and when. We suggest starting at one end of the centre and working your way to the other for ultimate browsing potential.
The bargain hunter
You definitely wouldn’t consider shopping up a storm to be a hobby of yours, but you can’t deny the allure of a good sale. If you’re looking to pick-up a bargain or two just in time for the New Year, we have a few handy tips to help. For starters, be sure to get in early, comprehensive list in hand. The phrase ‘ the early bird gets the worm’, certainly applies to shopping. Set your alarm for bright and early and aim to be one of the first in-centre, nabbing the perfect park and bargain in the process.
The patient parent
So, you’re one of the courageous few parents who dare to bring the kids along to the shops at sale time. Unfortunately, this conjures up images of screaming babies and toddlers on-the-loose. But instead of succumbing to stereotypes, make the most of your local Stockland centre’s kid-friendly services and enjoy a far more tranquil experience. Head to your centre’s website for centre-specific information!
The tag-along
We’ve all been there – dragged along to somewhere you’d rather not be. Whether you’d rather be at home in front of the cricket or lounging about on the beach, you’re stuck now and there’s not a lot you can do about it – or is there? Improve your day by tenfold by making this small change to your plans. Three words: find a seat. Forget trapesing behind your loved one making increasingly obvious complaints. Why not wish them well on their journey and wait in the comfort of a chair? Head to the nearest café and sip the day away as they shop – win, win!
