Eat your way to wellness

Category: food

One of the best parts of welcoming a new season (apart from the temporary relief from the blazing heat here in Australia) is the availability of a brand-new range of seasonal produce.

Although you can buy most produce all year round, there’s nothing sweeter than the first bite of a fresh mango come Summer, or the juicy pop of a cherry tomato come Winter.

With chemicals and cold storage being used to preserve food more and more often, seasonality has never been more important.

For many foodies and chefs, purchasing seasonal fruit and vegetables has a romantic and nostalgic connotation reminiscent of times when people were only able to eat what was fresh and readily available.

If you’re at a loss as to which items grow when, fear not! We’ve compiled a table outlining when each piece of produce is ripe for the picking.
