Need a little extra TLC for your skin as the seasons change? Here’s beauty guru Yvette from ActiveSkin’s pick of the best treatments on the market today.

We asked Activeskin Salon owner and beauty guru Yvette at Stockland Balgowlah for her favourite treatments and products to get you through the seasons.

Pamper your skin with a salon facial
A nourishing salon facial will help to soothe and revitalise your skin. Dermalogica’s UltraCalming Facial Treatment is targeted at over-sensitised skin, helping to reduce redness, inflammation and itching.

If you have specific skin concerns, a customised Dermalogica facial (including a professional exfoliation, hydrating serum treatment and an exquisite cream masque) will have your skin feeling completely loved up this winter.

Try a peels course for accelerated results
Want to up the ante? For those suffering excessive dryness without the sensitivity and looking for long term results, now is the perfect time to launch into a course of peels. Typically performed once a week over 4-6 weeks, a peel course will accelerate cell turnover on a more dramatic scale and is designed to reveal a radiant, youthful, dewy and lustrous complexion.

Exfoliate your skin
Treating your skin on a daily basis at home is a must for ongoing skin improvement and general maintenance. Exfoliating your skin will help to remove the dead dry surface cells, which in winter tend to ‘stick’ more to the surface of your skin - producing that dry, flaky and dull complexion.

Exfoliation not only helps to reveal softer plumper skin, it allows treatment serums and moisturisers to penetrate deeper into your skin for maximum results. Try mechanical exfoliants like ASAP’s Daily Exfoliating Scrub with exfoliating granules for a super simple and effective shower scrub

Or, get stuck into a high-tech multi-acid exfoliant such as Kerstin Florian’s Correcting At-Home Professional Peel – an amazing at-home peel system designed to brighten and retexture your skin.

Nourish your skin overnight
When it comes to targeted at-home serums, go for a hydrating serum which contains Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid or Vitamin B5. These hydration powerhouses specifically boost water levels in the skin to plump and revitalise your complexion, which is an absolute must for moisture-sapped winter skin. Try ASAP’s Super B Complex or Medik8’s Hydr8 B5.

Lock in the moisture
Lastly, lather up! A nourishing or hydrating moisturiser suited to your skin type will help to lock in its moisture while providing a smooth and nourished outer complexion.

Don’t worry, a moisturiser doesn’t have to be heavy to combat moisture loss. Creams such as Thalgo’s new Hydra-Marine 24H Cream are designed to create a ‘well’ of water in the skin for up to 24 hours giving you around the clock protection. For the crème de la crème, dive into a jar of Lancome’s Absolute Night Premium Bx - a truly exquisite cream to replenish and rejuvenate while you sleep.
