Start by laying our a few base rugs underneath a shady tree—jute rugs are great for grass. Make the area comfortable using cushions and ottomans. You can stick to a colour scheme, or mix and match to cultivate a perfectly undone, welcoming vibe.
Add a few tables low to the ground to rest drinks, flowers and candles on. Complete the setup with a few beautiful macramé hangings from a tree, fence or even a balcony if that’s more appropriate for your space. Bring in some pot plants for additional greenery and make sure to add a chair for the mum-to-be. If she’s in her third trimester of pregnancy, sitting on the ground all day may be uncomfortable, and offering a chair will make it easier for her to get up and down in order to greet and farewell guests (or make her way to the food table).
