Keep the kids inspired and entertained this school holidays with these fantastic DIY Christmas cards. They’ll love making something special to share with their mates, and you’ll enjoy the peace and quiet!
For this project, you will need the following materials:
- 4 x A4 sheet of red card
- 4 x A4 sheet of brown card
- 4 red pompoms (18mm size)
- 12 brown pompoms (18mm size)
- 32 googly eyes
- Brown acrylic paint
- A brown crayon
- Craft glue
Plus the following from around the home:
- A ruler
- A lead pencil
Makes 4 individual Christmas cards.
Take a piece of red card, and using your pencil and ruler, draw a border 2cm from each edge. Using the scissors, cut carefully along the border. Discard the edge.
Using your craft glue, paste the red card in the centre of the brown card, to give it a brown border. Once the glue is dry, fold in half to create your basic card.
Now it’s time to decorate! Dip your thumb in the brown paint, then place it one the card to make 3 large head shapes. Get a younger brother or sister (or use your pinky) to make a smaller head shape. Once the paint is dry, use your brown crayon to draw antlers on each head.
Apply craft glue to the back of each googly eye then place two on each head. Do the same with the pompoms to create a nose for each, saving the red for the smaller head (because it’s Rudolph!)
