15 Minute Mexican fish tacos

A Californian classic, these fish tacos are sure to turn up the heat. Filled with a Mexican spice mix, these flavour-filled tacos will give you an authentic experience.

  • Serves: 4
  • Time needed: 15 mins
  • Difficulty Easy


  • Fish fillets of your choice (enough for at least 4 people)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 diced onion
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 6 soft tacos
  • A sprinkle of Himalayan salt
  • Slaw:
  • 1/2 red cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 large grated carrot
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Guacamole:
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 diced tomato
  • 1/4 cup of fresh coriander
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt and pepper


  • Step 1

    In a bowl, combine paprika, garlic, oregano, onion, cayenne pepper and honey. 

    Once mixed together, spread over fish fillets.

  • Step 2

    In a separate bowl, combine all slaw ingredients and set aside.

    Tip: To make whipping together this meal even easier, check to see if your local supermarket has pre-cut bags of fresh slaw.

  • Step 3

    To make the guacamole topping, mix avocado, sour cream, coriander, tomato and salt and pepper in a bowl and stir well until it turns into a creamy, whipped consistency. Add the lime juice to your liking.

  • Step 4

    Pan-fry the fish in olive oil until crispy.

  • Step 5

    Place wraps in microwave for 30 seconds and build your tacos with fish, slaw and guacamole.
