Category: food

Not only is this easy cheese cracker recipe delicious, it’s a great way to get the kids involved in the kitchen. It’s also perfect for a kids’ birthday or slumber party with lots of hungry kids to feed!

  • Serves: 8
  • Time needed: 1 hour 40 minutes
  • Difficulty Easy

  • 1 ½ cups grated chedder cheese
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp coarse salt
  • Dash of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tbsp milk

  • Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees

  • Step 2

Using a pastry cutter, combine the cheese, butter, flour, salt and cayenne pepper until the mixture looks like pea-sized crumbs. Then, add the milk and use your hands to form the dough into a ball

  • Top tip!

Try to make sure the sticks or crackers are all around the same size so they cook evenly later.

    Step 3

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about ½ cm. Using a sharp knife, cut them into thin strips or using a cookie cutter, cut the dough into your favourite shapes.

  • Step 4

Gently transfer onto a tray lined with baking paper, leaving about ½ cm gap between. Bake on the middle rack for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden

  • Step 5

Cool on a baking sheet before serving – be careful, these are very hot!
