Natural gelatin – the main ingredient in jelly – is actually tremendously good for the body. They’re high in anti-inflammatory amino acids like glycine and proline, helps nails and hair grow fast and strong, promotes restful sleep and even improves memory and learning.
Although store-bought jelly is convenient, it’s often filled with sugar and artificial flavouring and dyes. The good news is that home-made version only needs three ingredients and they are just as delicious!
15 minutes to prep, refrigerate overnight
- 2 cups of your favourite natural juice (not from concentrate)
- 2 tbps gelatin
- Raw honey
- ½ cup of raw fruit (optional)
Pour your juice into a saucepan and add in 2 tbps of gelatin. Stir gently until the gelatin is dissolved
Don’t let the mixture sit too long or it will start to clump.
Turn the heat to medium and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Then turn the heat off and let the mixture sit for 1-2 minutes.
Stir and mix in the raw honey to your liking and then start to add in the raw fruit.
Pour mixture into a jelly mould (or any glass bowl will do) and leave in the fridge overnight to set
