Healthy Chocolate Smoothie

When scouting for the ingredients to make this healthy chocolate treat, buy fruits like bananas, mangos, pineapples and blueberries in bulk when they’re cheap and cut them into pieces to freeze in a zip-lock bag.  It’s a total money saver!

Ingredients

  • ½ a banana
  • ½ a small ripe avocado (optional)
  • Handful of blueberries
  • Handful of baby spinach
  • Tsp of cinnamon
  • Tbsp of natural peanut butter
  • Tbsp of dark chocolate
  • 300 mls of milk (your choice of low fat, almond, coconut or rice milk)
  • Protein powder (optional)

Directions

  • Top tip!

    Frozen fruit will give it a thicker consistency.

    Step 1

    Blend everything together, transfer into glasses and garnish with dried coconut or chopped nuts.
