Naan bread

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp caster sugar
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 90g Greek yoghurt
  • 4 tbs vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp dried yeast
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • Sesame seeds, toasted

Directions

  • Step 1

    Add the sugar, salt, yeast and flour to a bowl and mix well. Then pour in yoghurt, water, 2 tbs of oil and combine well.

  • Step 2

    Knead the dough for roughly 5 minutes then place it in a bowl. Cover the bowl with cling wrap and set aside in a warm place for around 1 hour or until the dough doubles in size.

  • Top tip!

    You could use a baking tray instead if you don’t have access to a pizza stone.

    Step 3

    Preheat the oven to 250°C and a pizza stone for roughly 40 minutes. Then gently punch the dough down with your fist and divide into 6 portions.

  • Step 4

    Lightly flour a table top and roll out each portion of dough into roughly 12x20cm ovals.

  • Step 5

    Lightly coat them with the remaining oil and bake on pizza stone for roughly 5 minutes. They should turn a light golden brown and puff a little.

  • Step 6

    Top with sesame seeds and wrap in foil until you’re ready to serve.
