Pan fried brussel sprouts

  • • 1kg brussel sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • • 6 cloves garlic, mashed
  • • Small brown onion
  • • Olive oil
  • • Salt & pepper
  • • Garlic powder to serve


  • Step 1

    Heat olive oil in a heavy pan over medium heat until the oil is hot, then add garlic and onion. Stirring constantly, until mixture is beginning to turn golden brown and fragrant (about 3 minutes).

  • Step 2

    Add Brussels sprouts and cook without stirring until the undersides of the sprouts turn golden brown, (about 5 minutes).

  • Top tip!

    These are great on Boxing Day with leftover ham! Simply dice ham finely and brown before you add your sprouts.

    Step 3

    Stir to turn sprouts over, and cook until golden brown all over. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder and serve immediately.
