Miguels Chocolate Fondue Dessert Garden

Steps

Prepare the base: Put the sponge or brownie on a cake plate.
Melt milk chocolate: Put the milk chocolate in a heatproof bowl and place over a saucepan pan of shallow water, bring to a simmer over gentle heat to melt the chocolate, alternatively put in a microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30 second increments until melted and smooth.
Melt white chocolate: Put the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl and place over a saucepan pan of shallow water, bring to a simmer over gentle heat to melt the chocolate, alternatively put in a microwave safe bowl and microwave in 30 second increments until melted and smooth.
Make the ‘soil’: Put the biscuits in the zip lock bag and using a rolling pin or base of a jar from the pantry, crush the biscuits to make soil.
Decorate: Decorate the base with chocolate frosting, chocolate soil and green sprinkles.
Dipping fruits and lollies: Start dipping fruits and lollies into chocolate and sprinkles then place over ‘soil’ and ‘grass’ to decorate ‘garden’.

 

Ingredients

1 bought sponge or brownie, rectangular or round, for base
400g milk chocolate, chopped
400g white chocolate, chopped 
1 packet green sprinkles, for grass (or make your own using coconut and green food colouring)
1 packet chocolate ripple biscuits, broken into pieces
1 medium zip lock bag
1 tub bought chocolate frosting
Toothpicks and bamboo skewers or toddler forks
Selection of fruits and lollies in bowls 
Fruit: Any selection of mandarin segments; fresh banana cubes; raspberries, blueberries, strawberries; mint; green or red apple cubes, pear cubes; kiwi fruit 
Lollies: Any selection of musk sticks or chocolate finger biscuits; bananas; sour worms or snakes; marshmallows; mini speckled Easter eggs, pretzels, red frogs, party mix. 
Selection of coloured sprinkles, in small bowls to decorate

Equipment

2 saucepans
2 heatproof/microwave proof bowls
Mini prep bowls for fruits, lollies and sprinkles
Rubber spatulas or dessert spoons to mix chocolate
Serving plate or cake plate
2 Medium zip lock bags
Rolling pin or jar from the pantry
Toothpicks, bamboo skewers or toddler forks
