My baby is little more than three months old. It is my third child. Our families live many hours away.  Over the past few months I have been overwhelmed by the love and support bestowed on us by our friends, by people we have only met in the last few years.

This Christmas it is these friends who will be nearby. My family will be in my heart but not in my home. So, I thought that this was a perfect opportunity to thank these friends for all that they are and for all they have been. I'm thanking them with these delicious and festive bliss balls.

  • Serves: 20
  • Time needed: 20 min
  • Difficulty Easy


  • 2 cups walnuts
  • 12 medjool dates, seeds removed
  • 3 tablespoons cacao or cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon concentrated natural vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup pistachios
  • 1/2 cup macadamias
  • 1/2 cup goji berries
  • 1/2 cup cranberries


  • Step 1

    Place the walnuts, dates, cacao or cocoa and vanilla into your food processor and blend at high speed until the mixture resembles a sticky crumb.

  • Step 2

    Add the pistachios and macadamias and quickly pulse to roughly crush. Add the goji berries and cranberries and gently mix to combine.

  • Step 3

    Use your hands to press and shape the mixture into balls. I made 20. Place in the fridge to set.
