Wear it Purple Day – 30 August 2019
At Stockland, we believe there is a better way to live, and we extend that belief to creating communities where people feel the freedom to be themselves.
It is important that we provide safe spaces free from discrimination so that everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexuality or gender expression, can feel safe and part of the community.
We are proud to support Wear it Purple Day; a day that celebrates diversity, in particular, among young LBGTI+ people in the community.
What is Wear it Purple Day?
Wear it Purple was founded in 2010 in response to stories of teenagers taking their own lives following bullying and harassment due to a lack of acceptance of their sexuality or gender identity. Its aim is simple – to foster supportive, safe and accepting environments for young people, to avoid disadvantage and ensure their wellbeing.
It shows young people across the globe that there is hope, there are people who support and accept them, and that they have the right to be proud of who they are.
If you agree, stand up, stand out and wear it purple!
