Stockland’s ground-breaking North Lakes community has been named Australia’s Best Master Planned Community 2017 at the prestigious Property Council of Australia awards.

Since its launch in 1999, North Lakes has been setting new benchmarks and features a diversity, scale and depth of facilities and service not previously seen in Queensland. 

Located in the heart of Brisbane’s thriving northern corridor, the Stockland community is home to over 20,000 people and will eventually boast a population of approximately 25,000 and provide the equivalent of 13,000 full-time jobs. More than 5,000 home sites have been created at North Lakes to date.

David Laner, Regional Manager for Stockland, said Stockland was thrilled to win the industry award recognising the success of North Lakes.

“We are very proud of what has been created at North Lakes and it is a great honour to have the community recognised by the Property Council of Australia in this way,’’ Mr Laner said.

Today, effectively all components of North Lakes’ masterplan have been delivered and the community is now the premier residential, commercial, retail, health, retirement living, entertainment and recreational hub of the Moreton Bay Region. 

To meet the demands of the ever increasing population in North Lakes and the surrounding areas, Stockland’s five kilometre North South Arterial Road, which stretches from Anzac Avenue to Boundary Road, officially opened in August 2016.  

The $45 million arterial road is helping to reduce travelling time and improve traffic conditions for North Lakes residents.

However, despite the masterplan nearing completion, Mr Laner said that North Lakes was continuing to innovate and adapt to meet the changing needs of the current generation of new home buyers.

“North Lakes is now leading the way by offering more affordable and lower maintenance homes sites for first home buyers, downsizers and young families who are keen to build a dream home is this thriving community,” Mr Laner said.  

“This includes our inner-urban medium density SoLa luxury townhome offering, which is already 85% sold out, and the boutique Circa Village of detached small lot, affordable homes close to the North Lakes Town Centre.”
