Sponsoring junior basketball in Geelong for 2023 and 2024

Stockland Banksia – located in Armstrong Creek between Geelong CBD and Torquay – is proud to announce its sponsorship of Geelong United Basketball’s junior competitions for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Geelong United Basketball (GUB) is one of the largest basketball associations in Australia. Stockland’s sponsorship of GUB will help to reduce game costs, while supporting the junior teams’ awards, facility management, customer service, the retention and development of referees, and first aid and CPR training.

It will also provide branded gear including banners, drink bottles and official branded basketballs.

Stockland Development Manager Matt Garvin said the business is looking forward to cheering on the participating teams this season.

“This partnership is an opportunity for Stockland to give back to the Geelong community,” said Mr Garvin. “Junior sport is perfect for bringing the community together - whether that be on the court or in the crowd.”

“For over 70 years, Stockland has been a leading creator of active communities, and we’re proud to help support junior basketball players in the area.”

As the main representative for basketball in the region, GUB works to support grassroots basketball and provide a pathway to NBL1, a semi-professional basketball league in Australia, for young athletes.

Geelong United Basketball Sponsorship & Marketing Manager Connie Bolger said Geelong United Basketball is delighted to receive support from Stockland Banksia.

“We work hard to give back to our community and we're proud to have the backing of local businesses. Stockland's support means we can focus on the fun of the game and the progress of Geelong United Basketball.”
