Ready Set Open- Stockland Harrisdale set to Excite Shoppers this June

Stockland Harrisdale is putting the final touches on the new $51 million shopping centre, with the doors set to open for the first time on Thursday 23 June. Upon opening, the community of Harrisdale and Piara Waters will enjoy their very own neighbourhood shopping destination with a focus on fresh food, dining and services.   

Located within the $661 million award-winning Stockland Newhaven residential community, 20 kilometres south-east of the Perth CBD, the centre will service the daily shopping needs of residents, as well as draw customers from a number of other rapidly growing residential communities in the area.

Bargain hunters will be delighted by the opening of a local ALDI supermarket at Stockland Harrisdale, the 7th store to open in the state this June. Local residents will enjoy ALDI’s high-quality products at permanently low prices with award-winning grocery products and popular Special Buys, together with fresh fruit, vegetables and bread delivered daily. The new centre will also be anchored by the only full-line Woolworths supermarket in the primary trade area and include some 30 specialty stores and 500 car parking spaces.

Phil Martin, Centre Manager at Stockland Harrisdale, said: “We are very excited to open the doors of Stockland Harrisdale, a brand new neighbourhood shopping centre with a wide retail mix, providing greater convenience for the community. We are pulling out all the stops for the grand opening with a great array of entertainment and savings for our customers and we invite everyone to come on down!” 

Stockland is inviting the community to join in and celebrate the grand opening of new Stockland Harrisdale on Thursday 23rd June with entertainment and specials for the whole family. On opening day the centre will host cooking demo’s from Eamon Sullivan at 10.45am & 12.45pm, plus kids will have the chance to meet the Care Bears from 10am - 1pm and Angry Birds’ Red from 1.30-4.30pm. 

The fun will continue into Friday & Saturday with the opportunity to meet the Transformers from 1.30-4.30pm and the Harrisdale Handmade markets, for all things unique, bespoke and hand made. The first 400 people to spend $60 or more at the new Stockland Harrisdale will also receive a free commemorative bamboo cutting board. 

As another mark of the company’s commitment to the future of the community, Stockland Harrisdale has already achieved a 4 Star Green Star Retail ‘Design’ by the Green Building Council of Australia and is targeting 4 Star Green Star Retail ‘As Built’ environmental rating. The centre been designed for improved indoor environment quality using innovative energy and water saving systems and with thoughtful inclusions such as EV car charging and bike racks for nearby residents to cycle to the centre.

Earlier this month acclaimed contemporary artist Chris Nixon, curated the first artwork for ‘The Public Art Project’ at Stockland Harrisdale with a mural featuring birds from the area of Harrisdale and the greater City of Armadale. The artwork  hopes to engage and reflect the new, confident sense of local identity that is growing in the community by building a sense of place that inspires.
