Celebrating International Women’s Day with Lisa from Stockland Piccadilly

International Women’s Day is a very special day of the year. It’s a day where we get to celebrate all the incredible women in our lives and acknowledge the hard work, they put into the things they’re passionate about each day. Whether they’re creative chefs serving up delicious dishes for the local community, fashion designers creating gorgeous gowns, or simply hard-working mums who are dedicated to teaching their children how to navigate the world, we’re constantly inspired by the women around us and how their diverse range of skills help to make the world a better place.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we’re taking the theme ‘inspired inclusion’ out into our local centres and showcasing some of our incredible retailers, staff, and community members who are paving the way for a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive world.

Today, we’re chatting with the Centre Manager at Stockland Piccadilly, Lisa.

What inspired you to want to work at Stockland Piccadilly?
I came to Stockland eight years ago for career progression, intending to leave after two years. However, Stockland’s commitment to supporting diversity in the workplace and actively encouraging women in leadership roles, means that I am still here and enjoying my role immensely!

What inspires you the most about working in the industry overall?
I find the property industry dynamic and exciting. It is incredibly rewarding to be part of a team that creates spaces where people work and play, socialise and engage, making a meaningful impact on people’s lives.

What does the phrase “inspired inclusion” mean to you?
"Inspired Inclusion" to me means embracing diversity and creating a sense of belonging. My belief extends across my team and my asset, guiding me in my role as Centre Manager. My aim is to create a space where everyone can thrive, contribute their unique strengths, and feel a genuine sense of belonging.
Who are some other women in your community that inspire you?

Who are some other women in your community that inspire you?
I have been fortunate enough to have several female mentors in my 20 years in the property industry. I love the saying “cast a long shadow” and these women have left a positive and long-lasting impact on me. I hope through my approach to life and my belief in diversity and inclusion, that I can also play a part in the development of our future generations of female talent in the workplace.

What’s a fond memory you have of working at Stockland Piccadilly?
It may sound like a cliché but it’s the people that brings a smile to my face. COVID may have changed the way we work but it’s the connection and engagement with people that makes my job something special.

International Women’s Day is the perfect time to thank the women in your community for all that they do. The next time you’re heading into Stockland Piccadilly, say hello to Lisa and tell them about some of the women who inspire you. Happy International Women’s Day!
