Category: entertainment

What could possibly make enjoying a meal with friends and family better? Music! There’s nothing better than cooking to a playlist and putting on a spread for family and friends with the ambience of some mood-boosting tunes. Because let’s face it, having the perfect soundtrack can sometimes mean the different between a ‘good’ and a ‘great’ time.

Whether you’re hosting a dinner party with family and friends, putting on an afternoon family BBQ, or even just cooking with the kids at home, we’ve put together four fabulous playlists to make your next dining event a memorable one. Each one of these mood-boosting playlists can be found on Stockland’s Spotify account.

Music to feed the soul: the feel-good dinner playlist

A music genre so smooth, you could spread it on bread. Soul music is a style of African American music developed from gospel and rhythm and blues back in the 50s and 60s. Known for its earthy expressiveness and unmatched vocals, you won’t be able to say no to putting some soul into your supper with these smooth tunes. The best part? Soul food is perfect for simple family dinners and consists of staples such as fried chicken burgers, roast veggies, and even mac and cheese – or any dish that you put your heart and soul into! And hey, we might even throw Australia’s beloved cob loaf in the mix.

Sun’s out, burger buns out! The perfect playlist for a backyard barbecue

Is it barbecue season yet? We love a good barbie here at Stockland – a time for family and friends to come together and enjoy each other’s company over all things that sizzle and smoke. After all, what other time does dad get to pull out his recycled, “Throw a shrimp on the barbie” line and throw on the “King of the grill” apron? Go on, tuck into some BBQ seafood and steak burgers over a few throwback classics mixed with top-trending tracks.
