Meet Scott | Retailer Stories

Behind each of your favourite stores are passionate, hardworking people who welcome you to take part in their story, every time you walk in. Here, we introduce you to the faces behind some of your favourite Stockland retailers. Learn about the history of their business, the products and services they offer and what they love about their local community.

Meet Scott from Australia Post

Tell us about your store & the products you offer..
Essentially there are two types of Post Offices, there’s corporate stores and then there’s us, we are a Licensed Post Office. Which means we are proudly locally owned and operated and employ local staff.

There are so many products and services we offer!

-Processing Passports, Working with Children Checks, National Police Clearances and passport photos

-You can open your very own private, safe and secure PO Box

- You can post and receive mail both within Australia and overseas

- Travel insurance, money orders, gift cards, Australia Post Mastercards, ordering your International foreign currency.

- We have a great gift range as well as our Australia Post Catalogue range too!

What do you love about your store?
That would definitely be the customers and the interactions we have with them each day! Because we offer such a vast array of transactions and products and services, no two customers are the same so it always makes it an interesting day.  I also love the fact that we can stock local business’ products to support local families.

What do you love about our local community?
I must admit our customers that we face daily are very nice. Baldivis has a mix of young, elderly, new families and new Australians. All of which we see daily! So whether it’s helping a new mum out to get her toddlers passport photo, selling cheap concession stamps to our valued concession customers or processing an Australian Passport for a new Australian Citizen, it always makes you feel good that we are helping to serve our local Baldivis community.

What is one moment in your business that you are really proud of?
I recently was asked to visit Parliament House in Canberra earlier this year to stand alongside the CEO of Australia Post Christine Holgate as a speaker to the National Chair of the Australia Post Licensee Council. We presented to delegates of the government on just how important 'The Post Office is to the Local Australian Community'.

What did you wish customers know before they visited your store?
If there’s one thing I wish the customers knew before they visited my store it would be that I’ve been here for hours sorting their mail so it’s all ready to be collected. I often have customers say to me “wow, that was quick” when I find their parcel but little do they know, there’s been lots of preparation and organising each morning to ensure the hundreds of customers each day get their mail in a timely fashion.

Also, we are a retail outlet and not a delivery centre which means unfortunately we do encounter issues with driver or contractor complaints (who aren’t actually part of our team). So we are constantly reminding our wonderful customers that we are doing everything possible on our end to ensure customers receive their parcels.

What are some of your favourite stores in Stockland Baldivis?
Some of my favourite stores in the centre would be Coles for supplying me with healthy breakfast options in the morning, all of our great coffee stores, our fantastic barber shop who always keep me looking professional and Aldi where you can always find random bits and pieces.
