It’s official: Valentine’s Day is in sight. Now is the time to plan the perfect date night.
There’s much inspiration to gather from celebrity date night moments – perhaps you’ll be inspired by one element and find ways to make it your own! So, to get the ideas flowing, we’ve gathered some tips and tricks below, plus a few items to shop as well.
Gifts
If one thing is for sure, the date starts way before you show up (with the gift, of course!). And if you need a gift for them, that means at some point you’ve done something right – you’ve followed our fashion guides, you’ve cooked them some killer meals, and you’re now in a relationship!
Gifting is really quite simple and although we are all unique, fortunately for those buying V-Day gifts, everyone shares a few common traits. One is that we all love things that smell good (who doesn’t?) and small tokens of appreciation will certainly go a long way. Jewellery, flowers, and chocolates are ideal (plus they are ‘date-sized’ and won’t be annoying to carry around all night long). Clothing
Next up, the perfect date night outfit! Whether it’s your first intimate date together or the umpteenth time you’re heading out for a bite, your outfit has one job: make you feel your best – and that’s going to mean something different for everyone. We recommend buying at least one new piece (it’s a special event after all!). Be sure to honour your personal style and wear what you ‘want’ to wear and not what you ‘should’ wear. Entertainment
Now for the date itself! On the 14th of February, it’s imperative to go the romantic route with classic entertainment. We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the annual day of love than with a movie night for two at Event Cinemas – it’s budget friendly and super romantic! Head in centre to enjoy a bite to eat before going into the cinema. Be sure to pick up fresh popcorn at the candy bar and then settle into your chair and enjoy a night of entertainment. And if you’re looking for a movie recommendation then Avatar: The Way of Water or Babylon are great options. In fact, both blockbusters have been nominated for multiple awards, as expected!
