Hervey Bay Esplanade Trail  

Looking for a stunning walking path close to home? Hervey Bay Esplanade Trail will take you from Gatakers Bay, Point Vernon to Urangan Boat Harbour with plenty of entry and exit points along the trail. Enjoy what Hervey Bay is famous for, from the sailboats, to the Pelicans and Uranagan Pier while you sip on a coffee and enjoy the sunshine.

Duration: Total trail length is 14km - choose your desired length and time.

Facilities Available: Clean amenities are dotted along the entire trail, with plenty of sheltered pavilions, barbeques and outdoor gym equipment. There are also numerous Cafes and eateries along the Charlton Esplanade section of the trail with some right on the shoreline.

Track condition: Easy and relaxing walk suitable for all ages and fitness levels. This track is also used by cyclists and rollerbladers.

Tin Can Bay Foreshore Bird Walk 

Want to take time to smell the flowers? Native Wildflowers bloom throught the year along this walk, with late Winter or Early Spring being the best time. Or are you an avid birdwatcher? This walk is perfect to take your binoculars with over 140 species of bird to be sighted.

Address: Tooloara Rd, Tin Can Bay (approximately 1 hour from Hervey Bay)

Duration:  4km  Facilities available: Clean and spacious picnic and seating area are available.

Track condition: Easy – moderate walking track. Suitable for people of all ages.

Vernon State Forest 

Created as a Mountain Biking trail area, the trails have become popular with Bushwalkers and Runners, winding through numerous Eucalyptus Woodland length trails. The best part is you can take your furry best friend as Dogs are permitted through Vernon State Forest, but must be kept on leashes.

Address: O'Reagan Creek Rd, Takura Duration: Numerous trail lengths are available to choose from depending on your schedule.

Facilities available: Joey trail features a covered area with tables, so it's a great place to stop and relax or have a bite to eat, as you listen to the beautiful bush sounds.

Track condition: Medium to Hard - The different bike trails are suitable for different fitness levels, with narrow and rough areas of dirt track.

Mt Walsh Utopia Rock Pool Track 

Feature a bit of a harder walking track to get your heart rate up? This tracks winds through incredible bushland where a wide range of Animals, Birds and depending on the season wildflowers can be seen. The jewel of this walk other than the views is that this track leads to Waterfall Creek and rock pools, so pack your swimmers an towel to enjoy a splash especially after rainfall. It is a wonderful place to enjoy nature at its best.

Duration: 3km track  Facilities available: This track is pure Australian bushland and has no amenities, so make sure to pack everything you need.

Track condition: Medium to Hard - The 3km track features rocky terrain, so perfect for those looking for a little adventure with moderate fitness level.

Queens Park, Maryborough

Established in 1860 and heritage listed, Queens Park, Maryborough is a magnificently maintained 5.2 hectares of gardens in the heart of Maryborugh. Need the kids to burn some energy? Queens Park is the perfect place to let them loose while you enjoy the kept green lawns, ancient trees and stunning flower beds.

Duration: Choose your own duration as you follow the great path along the river, or make your way through the flower beds.

Facilities available: The park has plenty of amenities available including electric barbeques, picnic tables and nearby Cafes close by.

Track condition: Easy - Suitable for all ages and fitness levels, the path along the river is great for prams or older walkers who require flatter ground.
