Jamaica Blue is under new management

Jamaica Blue is under new management and we caught up with new owners Karen and Troy to find out a little bit about them.

Karen and Troy have been residents of the Hervey Bay region for over 15 years with Troy calling it home for over three decades. Together they bring a unique blend of skills and community spirit to their existing and new businesses at Hervey Bay Central.

With Troy's expertise as a qualified plumber, drainer, and gasfitter, and Karen's proficiency as a qualified accountant, they embarked on their next entrepreneurial journey as small business owners.

Acquiring Muffin Break on October 18, 2022, and Jamaica Blue on February 1, 2024, they've become integral parts of the local fabric, employing 20 locals and fostering a sense of community.

Offering a 10% discount for seniors and students, they prioritize inclusivity and affordability. While they may not make large donations, they passionately support local causes, hosting fundraising events and contributing to organizations like the Heart Foundation, Share the Dignity, and the Cancer Council. They champion initiatives such as Mytosis Morning Tea, Pyjama Day for children in foster care, and support for the Fraser Coast Deaf Society.

In their downtime, Karen and Troy indulge in shared interests like fishing, where they bond over their love for reeling in the day's catch and cheering on their beloved NRL "Cowboys" team.

This lovely couple are not just business owners; they're integral members of the community, making a difference one muffin and cup of coffee at a time at both Muffin Break and Jamaica Blue.

Make sure you pop to say 'Hi' because Karen and Troy cannot wait to serve you.
