Our stores, our stories | Laser Clinics Australia

Tell us about your store.

We are Laser Clinics Australia at Stockland Wendouree.

What products, services or experiences do you offer?
We offer laser hair removal, cosmetic injectables, skin treatments, skincare, and makeup products.

What do you love about your store?  Laser Clinics team - COVID-19 ready
Where do I start? I love the fact that we offer treatments that actually work. Everything we offer is targeted to a specific outcome, be that permanent hair removal, anti-wrinkle treatments or dealing with difficult skin conditions such as rosacea or acne. I love that we are employing local people in a permanent role, who otherwise would have to travel or relocate to Melbourne or other cities.

I also love the fact that there is a sense of teamwork with all the other retailers in the centre.

What feedback to you get from your customers?
We get a real buzz from feedback. Many times, we are told stories of the significant impact we have on our customer’s lives and lifestyles. This can be anything from being able to go out with less make-up on than previously possible, to having more confidence because of less visible hair in unwanted places. We have a customer feedback system where every customer is asked to provide feedback with comments after each treatment and the vast majority of this feedback mentions “skill, professionalism, knowledge and personality”.

What are some common customer questions you get?
Why can’t I get laser when I have fake tan?
The laser sends heat down the hair shaft to cauterise the blood supply to the hair follicle. If the skin is darker than the body naturally would be, the skin absorbs additional heat and there is a risk of burning, or skin discolouration.
Why do I need to shave the night before laser hair removal?
As above, the laser requires a small hair shaft to act as a conductor for the heat. Any hair above the skin surface risks absorbing heat destined for the hair follicle, making the laser less effective. Excess hair can work to physically obstruct the laser, also resulting in a less effective treatment.

What drives you and the team to success?
Every month we ask the team what has given them the most joy and invariably the answer is “making a difference to someone”.

What are customers wanting right now?
We are seeing a lot of customers preparing for the upcoming summer. Now is a perfect time to commence laser hair removal in preparation for warmer days, and to also consider how to reduce the impacts of aging.

What new trends are you seeing?
We are starting to see a lot more men taking advantage of laser hair removal and skin treatments. We are definitely a unisex store and it is encouraging to see the growth in this market.

Why do you think shopping centres are important?
The shopping centre has developed into the single destination – the place where everything you may need is conveniently under one roof.
