Celebrating International Women’s Day with our local community

International Women’s Day is a very special day of the year. It’s a day where we get to celebrate all the incredible women in our lives and acknowledge the hard work, they put into the things they’re passionate about each day. Whether they’re creative chefs serving up delicious dishes for the local community, fashion designers creating gorgeous gowns, or simply hard-working mums who are dedicated to teaching their children how to navigate the world, we’re constantly inspired by the women around us and how their diverse range of skills help to make the world a better place. To celebrate International Women’s Day, we’re taking the theme ‘inspired inclusion’ out into our local centres and showcasing some of our incredible retailers, staff, and community members who are paving the way for a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive world.

Today, we’re chatting with Tara Yang from INLY Skin Care and learning more about her.

What inspired you to want to start a business?
I suffered from psoriasis and perioral dermatitis for many years and tried many treatments. It was the darkest time in my life. Because of these experiences, I started learning about beauty and Bachelor of Dermal Science and fell in love with it. Hence I want to make it a career to help other people in any way I can as healthy skin can lead us to confidence.

The most rewarding part of running your own business?
I hope my clinic and my concept can help people in our area establish proper skin care concepts and obtain effective skin results.

What does the term “inspiring inclusion” mean to you?
Be more inclusive, listen to many different voices, and achieve different selves.

Who other women in your community inspire you?
Many incredibly strong, courageous, and hard-working women in our community inspire me as well. They focus on doing their best and constantly improving skills by learning from each other. They would also give me a lot of advice to grow the business.

What advice would you give to other women who want to start their own business?
Especially after being a mother, I felt more motivated on focusing the current business as I would be a role model to my newborn. You never know what your potential is, but if you put your mind to it, trust me, you will constantly surprise yourself.
