Nasi Goreng

Inspired by the $10 meal challenge taking over social media, we share a savvy Nasi Goreng recipe that's almost too good to be true! 

Method

1. Cook the rice, spread it out on a tray and refrigerate for 4 hours. 

2. Once the rice has been chilled, add the garlic, chilli, and onion into an oiled saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until golden.

3. Add the chicken (optional) and cook through. 

4. Add the rice and sweet soy sauce, then cook for 3-5 more minutes, or until the rice starts to caramelise.  


Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180 fan forced. Meanwhile, in a large iron pot, add oil, onion, and garlic. Simmer until golden.

2. Stir in tomato paste with a wooden spoon, add the rice, and stir for another 2 minutes. 

3. Add water and cook whilst stirring occasionally, until the water has reduced by half. Add stock and canned tomatoesbring to boil. 

4. Place the pot in the oven for 20 minutes. Stirring after 10 minutes. 

5. Remove from the oven and stir in butter and Parmesan

  • 2 chicken breast kebabs
  • 3 cups of white rice
