Stockland Birtinya is excited to announce their $86 million development includes an inclusive playground for children of all ages and abilities, to be launched to the public at the shopping centre opening on 7 December 2018.
A three day Food & Wellness Weekend is being held to celebrate the opening of the centre and playspace, which was designed in collaboration with Stockland’s CARE Foundation partner, the Touched By Olivia Foundation.
The new playspace has been designed with imagination, creativity and active play in mind and incorporates a number of unique design features inspired by the coastal environment.
The playground includes a central feature Robinia ship, mound tunnel, embankment slide and grass reeds parkour designed tactile play spaces for discovery and learning. Rubber features such as a dolphin and rocks adorn the playspace reflecting the natural environment and our nearby beaches.
Shane Monro, Stockland Birtinya Centre Manager, said the playground’s inclusive and innovative design ensured all children can play together., “With one in five Australians living with a disability, we’re proud to continue our national partnership with the Touched By Olivia Foundation at our new shopping centre, opening this terrific, inclusive play space at for all customers to enjoy.

Touched by Olivia Founder, Justine Perkins said: “Our playgrounds acknowledge disability by providing easy access and fun, stimulating play areas, but they are really about celebrating the ability of all children, ensuring everyone can play and have fun.”
