Meet Jono, Birtinya News & Gifts
1. Tell us about your store?
We are traditional newsagency carrying a wide range of greeting cards, magazines, stationery and gifts. We are a licenced "The Lott" lottery agent and stock a range of of local, state and national newspapers.
2. What do you love about your store?
The best thing about our shop is our greeting cards. We have the biggest and best range on the Sunshine Coast, with some customers travelling as far west as Kilcoy and north as Gympie once every few months to stock up for birthdays. Our cards are sourced from Australian designed and made suppliers such as Simson, Squirrel, Twigseeds and Candle Bark, as well as the larger suppliers like Hallmark and John Sands. We have a caption for every occasion!
3. What do you love about our local community?
We have been here since the grand opening of the shopping centre in December 2018 and it has been great to meet the growing number of locals calling the Birtinya area home. We have such a nice mix of customers, from students and young workers, to families and retirees.
4. What feedback to you get from your customers?
It always puts a smile on our face to hear customers say how lovely our card range is.

We have such a nice mix of customers, from students and young workers, to families and retirees. The area is changing so fast it is hard to keep up with, but it is nice to be a part of the growth story.
6. What is your current role and main responsibilities?
I’m the owner of Birtinya Gifts & News.
