Meet Baris, Kebab Zone Birtinya
1. Tell us about your store?
Kebab Zone, Birtinya’s authentic Turkish Kebab joint. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a huge range of delicious gourmet kebabs, salads, chips, sweet treats, coffee and so much more. For the best kebabs on the Sunshine Coast, come visit us at Stockland Birtinya.
2. What products, services or experiences do you offer?
Here at Kebab Zone Birtinya, we offer authentic Turkish kababs. We also offer breakfast plates, sweet treats, the best coffee, burgers, chips, hot dogs and heaps more.
3. What do you love about your store?
I absolutely love the environment, the open air store is exactly what I wanted when I was looking for a vacant shop. It’s location means I can pump the music when everyone else has left for the night.
4. What feedback to you get from your customers?
Great feedback. I have customers travel from surrounding suburbs just to get my kebabs.
5. Do you have a funny story you would like to share?
Prior to the first week of opening the display cabinet got broken in transport meaning we were unable to open on the official opening date. We promised the Stockland team we’d still be here serving customers with our delicious coffee. We had over 100 people line up trying to order kebabs without one single kebab item on display. We thought this was pretty funny!
6. What are some must-have items, services or experiences right now?
I think the must have item on the menu is my ‘chefs special kebab’, I can’t give too many details but it has some favourites including double length bread, my special sauce and crispy chips. It’s a must try.
7. What’s three words that describe your store?
Traditional, flavoursome, quality
8. How have you coped with COVID-19 and what are you looking forward to?
I’ve coped well with COVID-19, it has given me less tables to clean, increased our contactless delivery service and given us the opportunity to welcome new customers into the store.
