Community spirit, mutual trust, and the comfort of knowing your neighbours are key to maintaining the fun, friendships, and freedom of the Stockland Halcyon lifestyle.

Our community guidelines are partly determined by State legislation, while others are better described as part of the social contract of living at Halcyon. Together, they help to shape the unique lifestyle that Halcyon homeowners love.

Buying & selling in a Stockland Halcyon community?

No, there is no stamp duty payable on the purchase of your home.

Obtaining a housing loan is not common for Land Lease Communities. There are several lenders which have introduced products that may be suitable. If you are interested in pursuing this, you should seek financial advice.

If and when you choose to sell your home you can either use Stockland as your selling agent, or any agent of your choice.  Stockland will charge a commission similar to average real estate agency fees.

When you sell a Stockland Halcyon home all capital gains are yours and there are no exit fees.

Yes, even though Stockland Halcyon offers an experienced sales team and some external agents have experience in this area, you can sell your home directly if you so wish.

Why trust Stockland Halcyon?

Why trust Stockland Halcyon?

UDIA stands for Urban Development Institute of Australia and it is the peak industry body for property developers around the country. On a yearly basis each state association seeks to award the highest achievers in various segments of the development industry within their state. The winners of the state awards may then be nominated for a national award. Halcyon Communities to date has won almost 30 state and national UDIA awards.

Back in 2004, a doctor and a lawyer living and working in South East Queensland had the ambitious yet simple vision of changing the face of retirement living. Through first-hand experience in their respective fields of medicine and law, Dr Bevan Geissmann and Paul Melville realised the traditional retirement model did not meet the needs of modern retirees. It was complex, financially onerous and outdated.

They believed there was a better way and that the modern senior deserved and wanted more from their retirement. Sensing the industry was ripe for change, they decided to deliver innovative housing for lifestyle oriented over 50s.

They created Halcyon, a company that went on to establish and manage nine vibrant Land Lease Communities across South East Queensland, winning almost 30 industry awards for its superior quality and innovation.

In 2021, one of Australia’s largest diversified property groups Stockland acquired Halcyon and its in-house building arm Halcyon Constructions (QLD). Founded in 1952, Stockland owns, develops and manages a large portfolio of retail town centres, workplace and logistics assets, residential communities and Land Lease Communities.

Today, Stockland Halcyon set a benchmark in creating safe, vibrant and thoughtfully planned land lease communities which offer quality, sustainability and liveability. Halcyon Communities go further than providing the bricks and mortar of a community by offering the freedom to flourish for those ready to start an exciting new chapter that comes with a lifestyle designed for over-50s.

Through caretakers and full-time community managers, the lifestyle of fun, friendship and connection is fostered to make your days easier and more enjoyable. Here at Stockland, we are dedicated to innovating and leading the industry and look forward to unveiling new communities across the country in the years to come.
