Buyers snap up Halcyon Greens Stage Four release

Update
July 16, 2020

Buyers were out in force to snap up one of the newest homesites available at Halcyon Greens, Australia’s biggest lifestyle.

Even the media came along for the launch of the Kingfisher Release of homes, the second tranch of homes available in Stage 4 of the Pimpama community.

Most hotly contested of the 21 on offer were the larger corner blocks as well as the sites located on the perimeter of the community with a spectacular rear outlook to Nyamul Reserve, the 300 hectare private nature sanctuary which provides a green haven for native flora and fauna.

Halcyon Greens Project Director Glenn Nugent said the successful launch event had drawn buyers from all over southeast Queensland, as well as interstate buyers who phoned in their offers for their preferred sites.

“We’ve got buyers here from neighbouring suburbs such as Ormeau, quite a few from Brisbane and we also have buyers from the South Coast of NSW and Newcastle,” he said.

Mr Nugent said interest had been solid during the last few months, while measured construction of the community had continued throughout the COVID-19 restrictions.

He said the pandemic had reinforced the importance of community and connection, and had been the catalyst for many to make the move.

“It’s easy to become very isolated and lonely in suburbia, especially if you’re living alone,” he said. “In a Halcyon community, there’s peace of mind that there is always someone there to speak to or to help if necessary.”

“There are a lot of people who may have been interested in downsizing from their family home to an over 50s lifestyle community, but for whatever reason felt the time wasn’t right.

“Going through something like COVID-19 has shown them that there’s really nothing to wait for and that the next phase of their lives should start now.

“The comment is hear most often from our homeowners is that ‘we should have done this sooner.’”

Lucky buyers Anita and Keith Graham from Brisbane’s southside reserved one of the sites and said they were excited to join the Halcyon Greens community when the home is finished next year.

“We’re just really excited to start the next phase of our lives and we’re looking forward to being part of a community,” Mrs Graham said.

“We had researched a number of over 50s communities and we were just incredibly impressed with what is on offer here at Halcyon Greens.

“We’re both very active, Keith is a keen golfer and I love going to the gym.”

The Grahams are in their early 60s and said they couldn’t understand why some people choose to delay a move like this.

“We wanted to be young enough to get the maximum enjoyment of all of the facilities and activities on offer,” Mrs Graham said.

She said they didn’t want to downsize to a smaller house and then downsize again to a unit a few years later as costs such as stamp duty and removalists were expensive.

“We liked that there were no entry or exit fees, no stamp duty and we got to keep any capital gains should we choose to sell down the track,” she said.

“And we’ve always had new houses, whether we’ve built them or bought project homes, this is brand new and its all done for you without additional costs.”

Masterplanned by Sanctuary Cove architect Brian Toyota, Halcyon Greens sits on a spectacular 34 hectare island site, adjacent to Gainsborough Greens 18-hole championship golf course.

The $20 million recreation and lifestyle precinct sits within 2.8 lush hectares and provides an oasis of activities for homeowners to enjoy. Facilities include three distinct clubhouses designed for different levels of formality, an indoor and outdoor pool, firepit, eight floodlit pickleball courts, tennis, festoon-lit bocce, lawn bowls, cinema, dance studio, craft room, herb and vegetable gardens, walking trails as well as a gym, hair salon and day spa.

The community first opened more than two years ago and has been a leading player in the amazing growth experienced in the Pimpama and northern Gold Coast area.

Halcyon is an award-winning lifestyle community developer, with seven communities located on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, as well Caboolture. Two new communities, Halcyon Rise in Logan Reserve and B by Halcyon at Buderim are currently underway.

Halcyon communities are fully equipped with unique five-star resort and recreational facilities, while homes are built with quality inclusions and the latest in energy efficient measures.
