Continuing the legacy
Welcome to Spring and the new My Halcyon Days. It’s the same heartwarming and interesting stories you’ve come to know and love with a fresh new look.
We’re also welcoming Stockland’s Food Ambassador Miguel Maestre, also known as the ‘Crazy Bull’ as a regular contributor and also as a VIP guest at a number of Halcyon Communities throughout the next year.
It’s also an opportunity to introduce myself. After almost 25 years working in community design and development (15 of these with Stockland), I’m humbled to be leading the Halcyon Communities team.
Spring is a time for rebirth and regeneration. And in this year, our 70th anniversary, it’s also a chance to reflect on where we’ve come from and where we’re going.
When Stockland’s founder Ervin Graf had the idea in 1952 to build a small community of homes in Sydney’s west, he was inspired by possibility. He saw it as an opportunity to help Australian families to fulfill their dreams of home ownership and to be surrounded by a connected community.
Just like our homeowners who are inspired by the possibility of their next chapter and what life at Halcyon Communities entails – fun, friendship, connection and an opportunity to live their lives to the full.
We also continue to be inspired by what is possible. As we move into our next chapter, you will see a new vision emerge for the future of the communities we create by focusing on sustainability, liveability and proximity to green space, shops, medical facilities and community activities.
It’s an exciting time as we will soon launch new communities in Victoria and South East Queensland, and in time, other Australian states.
I look forward to meeting with many more of you over the coming months. And as we move into Spring, I, like many of you, will be embracing the warmer weather and might even try to get in a spot of fishing.
Enjoy this issue of My Halcyon Days.
