Halcyon Nirimba judged Queensland's best

Awards
November 08, 2022

Halcyon Nirimba was named the state’s best in Seniors Living at the prestigious Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Queensland Awards for Excellence, announced at Brisbane City Hall on Friday 4 November.

Stockland Project Director Mr Andrew Astorquia was humbled by the industry recognition for Halcyon Nirimba, the country’s first land lease community (LLC) to be deliberately designed into a greater masterplanned community.

“Our vision for Halcyon Nirimba was to create the Sunshine Coast’s best backyard for the modern senior, with the added convenience that living within a wider masterplanned community affords,” Mr Astorquia said.

“Driving everything we do is a deep commitment to delivering an outstanding masterplanned community with quality homes and an abundance of facilities to keep our homeowners active and socially connected.

“Halcyon Nirimba provides a genuine alternative for downsizers and pre-retirees who want the connection, fun and freedom that a community designed for over 50s offers.”

Halcyon Nirimba is conveniently located on the Sunshine Coast in the heart of Aura, Australia’s largest masterplanned community.

In addition to the magnificent onsite $6.7m leisure and recreation facilities, the community is positioned next to Aura’s future city centre, offering shops, restaurants, parks, cycleways, medical facilities all at homeowners’ doorstep.

Entrants in the Seniors Living category were judged on a number of factors including environmental consideration, design innovation, sales results, commitment to the broader community as well as meeting the specific needs of retirement-age homeowners.

When complete, Halcyon Nirimba will have 244 architecturally designed homes with more than 11 home designs for buyers to choose from. The Clubhouse, which opened earlier this year, is a modern take on the traditional Queenslander. It includes sweeping outdoor verandas; an indoor cinema; heated swimming pool, spa and gym; a bowling green; and an alfresco entertaining area with a communal kitchen, pizza oven and barbeque facilities.

The annual UDIA Queensland Awards for Excellence honour the highest achievers across all sectors of the development industry with winners eligible to contest the national awards.

The announcement adds to the impressive number of awards that Stockland’s Halcyon Communities have accumulated over the years, winning more than 30 industry awards.
