Judged Australia's best lifestyle
Andrew Whitson, Stockland CEO Communities said: “This national recognition is a tribute to the vision of Halcyon’s original founders and the hard work of the Halcyon team to create the country’s first golf and over 50s lifestyle community.
“The vision for Halcyon Greens was to create a modern, country club-style community, the size and scale of which has never been seen in seniors living in this country.
“We are immensely proud to be Halcyon’s new custodian and looking forwarding to building on the success of Halcyon Greens drawing on Stockland’s deep commitment to delivering outstanding master planned communities with quality homes and an abundance of facilities to keep homeowners active and socially connected,” said Mr Whitson.
Halcyon Greens provides a genuine alternative for downsizers and pre-retirees who want the connection and freedom that an over 50s lifestyle community offers.
The $325 million community, which was designed by Sanctuary Cove architect Brian Toyota, is located on a 34ha island at Pimpama on the Gold Coast, surrounded by native wetlands and nature reserves and adjacent to Gainsborough Greens championship golf course.
Halcyon Greens’ island oasis has been master planned with five residential precincts, all connected to a central 2.8ha green spine housing the $20m Recreation and Leisure Precinct.
Entrants in category were judged on a number of factors including design and town planning, engineering, construction and delivery, market acceptance and appreciation, financial performance and risk management, stakeholder management, teamwork and collaboration, environmental sustainability as well as community and social outcomes.
Since it was launched in late 2017, Halcyon Greens has been Australia’s fastest-selling lifestyle community, setting regional sales records across multiple releases.
When complete, Halcyon Greens will have 528 homes across 23 styles and eight designs finishes, a recreation club and lodge, cinema, gym and wellness centre, indoor and outdoor pools, a floodlit tennis court and championship-sized bowling green and be home to almost 1000 residents.
It is also the home of Australia’s largest purpose built Pickleball facility with eight floodlit courts.
Since 2006, Halcyon communities have earned more than 30 regional, state and national awards, cementing it as one of Australia’s most awarded lifestyle community developers.
