Sunshine Coasters love B by Halcyon, with the majority of the 40 homes sold so far at the luxury over 50s lifestyle community going to local buyers.

At an event to launch the Qualia Release, the second stage of homes at the Whites Rd community, more than two-thirds were snapped up.

Project Director Chris Carley said the successful launch event had drawn the majority of buyers from the Sunshine Coast region.

“The Qualia Release offers a wide spectrum of product in terms of size, finishes and pricing to attract a broad market of local buyers,” Mr Carley said.

“Demand has been strong with 15 out of 23 homes on offer being sold to buyers who have come from the Sunshine Coast region.”

The release features Halcyon’s stunning new Daintree product which is a two-storey tree house design which includes a lift and a four car garage for retirees who need space.

Among the 15 homes sold, three out of four of the two-storey Daintree homes which are priced between $859,000 and $879,000 have been snapped up as well as three out of four of the lakefront homes, which range between $859,000 to $929,000.

At the event today was longtime Mountain Creek residents Sue and Gary Hadenham who have bought a home at B by Halcyon.

When they listed their family home for sale in the height of COVID-19, little did they know just how fast it would be snapped up.

“It had literally gone on realestate.com.au and our agent called to ask if someone could come and inspect, not tomorrow but today,” Sue said. “Within two hours, the deal was done.”

Sue said the buyers originally wanted a two week settlement, but ended up agreeing on three weeks.

“It was actually great as it meant we had to get organised very quickly, there was certainly no mucking around.”

Keen golfers, Sue and Gary had made the decision to move into an over 50s community as the maintenance on their large home had become a chore.

“I didn’t want to move, I loved our home and I’d said I was never leaving,” Sue said. “But it was on 1000 sqm and even though we’d done a massive renovation 15 years ago, everything was looking like it needed updating.”

After visiting a competitor, the pair drove down into Whites Road to take a look at B by Halcyon, which Sue said took her breath away and she said to Gary: “I’m home.”

The active couple were looking forward to being able to participate in all of the sporting activities on offer, including the gym, pools and yoga lawn.

“I am really excited about the Art Precinct as I’m a botanical artist and I run quite a few workshops and classes, so to have this beautiful new facility to enjoy is just wonderful.”
