B by Halcyon serves final piece to the community unveiling the Sports Pavilion
While the world’s best tennis players battled it out Melbourne at the Australian Open, B by Halcyon’s homeowners and buyers put their best foot forward at the official opening of the community’s Sports Pavilion.
Stockland Halcyon communities Project Director Andrew Astorquia said the opening of the facilities is a major milestone for the award-winning community, located in Buderim, with tennis and pickleball being popular sports amongst homeowners.
“The Central Park and Sports Pavilion are the final facilities to be delivered for B by Halcyon, so this is a very exciting day for the whole community,” Mr Astorquia said.
For those unfamiliar with the sport of pickleball, it’s a hybrid of tennis, badminton and ping pong that has fast become a global sensation.
“Not only does the sport encourage homeowners to get active, it’s also easy to learn, caters for a range of skill levels and is a fun way to connect with neighbours and friends,” Mr Astorquia said.
Mr Astorquia said it’s been great to watch the popularity of the sport grow as Stockland's Halcyon communities were the first in the industry to build a purpose built pickleball court.
“The first purpose-built pickleball courts in Australia were initially constructed at Halcyon Glades (Caboolture) in 2018 and now Halcyon communities boasts the largest dedicated facility in the country with eight state-of-the-art courts at Halcyon Greens (Pimpama),” he said.
“The addition of the four courts at B by Halcyon is a very welcome one.”
Inspired by the festivities at the Australian Open, the new courts were ceremoniously opened with an afternoon celebration of locally sourced woodfired pizza, gelato and refreshing beverages whilst watching the live coverage of the Australian Open on the large screen.
