All smiles after buying at Halcyon Rise
Ann and Colin Moody already had their hearts set on a new home at Stockland’s Halcyon Rise but an unusual word-of-mouth recommendation sealed the deal.
“I’m the practice manager at a dental practice in Logan Village and a couple of our patients who live there told me how great it is and that it was the best move they made,” Ann said.
“They invited us for a coffee to check it out before we move in which seems to be a common trait among residents, they’re all very welcoming.”
“We’re really looking forward to all the get-togethers they seem to have!”
The couple were living on acreage at Mt Tamborine when they decided to downsize, inspecting several communities and houses for sale before finding and falling in love with Halcyon Rise.
“The whole appearance of the place looked beautiful - the layout, the streets and the display homes were gorgeous and very well built,” Ann recalled.
“It also helped knowing that the management team would keep it picture perfect.”
The couple sold their Mt Tamborine home the same day they put it on the market and are now overseeing the design and construction of their new home at the Logan Reserve community.
They’ve made a few modifications and subtle changes to their dream home including the inclusion of a butler’s pantry, increased floor space and extra accessibility.
Outside their four walls, the Moodys are enamoured with the surrounding natural environment and green space within Halcyon Rise.
“Coming from an acreage with acreage properties all around us, the green space helps make it seem a bit easier for us to settle in,” Ann said.
So too, does their new home’s location.
“Our son and five-month-old grandson live at Lota and our daughter and 10-year-old granddaughter are right nearby at Waterford,” Colin said.
The couple says their grandchildren are as keen as they are to test out the community’s pool while Colin is firm in his resolve to ‘get fit’ in the well-equipped gym.
While Ann and Colin, a national flooring manager, plan to keep working after moving into their new Halcyon Rise home in early 2023, they are already looking forward to their eventual retirement.
“We’d like to travel more, overseas and around Australia, so it’s nice to know we can leave the house and not worry about it, it’s safe and secure,” Colin said.
