Pickleball a hit at Halcyon Rise - March project update

At the end of 2022, Halcyon Rise opened their Pickleball Courts, much to the excitement of homeowners and buyers.

The Pickleball Courts are the first of the active lifestyle facilities to be delivered at the community, which is located in Logan Reserve.

For those unfamiliar with the sport, Pickleball is a hybrid of tennis, badminton and table tennis that has fast become a global sensation.

Homeowner Roman Norynberg is part of the newly formed Halcyon Rise Pickleball Committee and said the courts have been embraced by the community.

“Before moving to Halcyon Rise, I had never even heard of Pickleball, as with many of the other homeowners here.”

“I’m still very much a novice, but the game provides a great opportunity to play with a variety of people from all different skill levels.”

“The Committee is in the process of formalising a Pickleball program and we currently play group sessions twice a week.”

“It’s a great little game; I plan to keep playing as long as my arms and legs let me!”

Stockland's Halcyon communities were the first in the industry to build a purpose built Pickleball Court.

Stockland Project Director, Mr Chris Carley, said it’s been great to watch the popularity of the sport grow within our communities.

The first purpose-built Pickleball Courts in Australia were initially constructed at Halcyon Glades (Caboolture) in 2018 and now Halcyon Greens (Pimpama) boasts the largest dedicated facility in the country with eight state-of-the-art courts.

“The addition of the four courts at Halcyon Rise is a very welcome one.”

“Not only does the sport encourage homeowners to get active, it’s also easy to learn and is a fun way to connect with neighbours and friends.”

“For our more competitive players, the new courts will have them well prepared for the annual Stockland Halcyon Communities Pickleball competition later this year,” Mr Carley said.
