Empty nesters choose Halcyon Evergreen for next chapter
Garry (61) and Karen (58) Dyer have always had a five-year plan, which often involved building and flipping houses, in between running their own business.
Now, the couple are looking forward to making Halcyon Evergreen their forever plan, along with all the experiences that a lifestyle community will offer.
“We’re both looking forward to the change of pace and slowing down to enjoy the next stage of our lives,” Karen says.
“We have older family members living in retirement villages and while we liked the concept of community living, we agreed that we're not that old yet!”
“So, we did our homework and came across Stockland Halcyon,” she said.
The couple attended the Halcyon Berwick Open Day earlier this year and were especially impressed by the facilities.
“We learnt more about Halcyon Evergreen and decided it was the community for us,” Karen says.
“We love the facilities on offer and that they’re basically an extension of our backyard.”
“With the Stables facility precinct due to be completed before the first homeowners move in, there will be a range of spaces and activities we can enjoy immediately.”
We have three children and four grandchildren, so we’re really pleased they can enjoy the facilities when they visit too,” Karen says.
Their ‘COVID fur baby’, a Cavoodle named Dusty, will also be right at home at Halcyon Evergreen.
“Dusty is very social and comes everywhere with us!”
The security aspect of the community was also an important factor for the couple.
“We can walk Dusty of an evening around our community and feel safe,” Karen says.
“We’d also like to purchase a caravan to do some travelling and experience different cultures overseas.”
