This edition includes the latest information on the Halcyon Horizon team, clubhouse construction progress & our upcoming event

The Halcyon Horizon Team

Our team at Halcyon Horizon is made up of Lachlan Atkins (Project Director), Matt Lane (Development Manager), Angus McLellan (Assistant Development Manager), Chadd Appelgren (Project Manager), Brett Swan (Sales Professional), Michelle Sambucco (Sales Associate), Bianca White (Housing Specialist), Nerida Brown (Community Manager), and Greg Parker (Facility Caretaker).

Each Developer Insights will introduce another member of the team to help you get to know what we do, who we are, and how we can help you live your best life at Halcyon Horizon.

What's the day-to-day like in your role?
My role involves coordinating all the various team members who work across Halcyon Horizon to ensure we're delivering the best possible community. There is a lot of work and people involved in building a community, including the local council, builders, architects, consultants, finance, marketing, sales, and more, and my role is to make sure everyone has what they need to bring Halcyon Horizon to life.

What inspired you to pursue a career in property development?
I have always loved construction and buildings, which is why I studied an Honours degree in Construction Management. I expected to work for a contractor but landed a role with a property developer while I was in my early university years. Since then, I have worked for numerous developers and spent time on the contractor side with a commercial builder in Melbourne. Overall, I really enjoy working with teams to deliver projects that have real-life impact.

If you weren't in property development, what career do you think you'd be in?
I would work in construction or landscaping, focusing on design or project delivery.

How does your role impact homeowners & homebuyers?
Indirectly, as I work behind the scenes supporting the team. However, my role influences nearly every aspect of the project—from the design and delivery of homes and community facilities to settlements, community management, and engagement. I also contribute to sales strategies, financial outcomes, and feasibility assessments, all of which shape the experience of homeowners and homebuyers.

When might we see you?
At events, in the site office 2-3 times a week or walking around the community.

What's a fun fact about yourself?
Before my university and professional career, I was an elite road cyclist, spending five years living and racing across Europe. I competed against many of the professionals now seen in the Tour de France and the Olympics, some of whom were my teammates.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work that might surprise people?
Beyond sports, cycling, and travelling, I enjoy renovating my home in Geelong. I also serve as the president of the Geelong West Community Garden, where I help foster a vibrant and inclusive space for the local community.

What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day on the job site?
Walking my Border Collie, Nala, and watering my veggies at the community garden.

Home Completion Journey

We are excited to inform you that Stage 2 of our home construction is progressing well, with 41 slabs already poured and 34 frames successfully installed. In addition, we have completed Stage 1, marking a significant milestone in the development of our community.

As we continue to advance, we look forward to welcoming more of our valued homebuyers to the community soon.

Please keep an eye out for your invitation to our upcoming pre-settlement catch-up sessions. These meetings are designed to help you prepare for a smooth transition into community living.

Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm as we work to create a wonderful place to call home.

Broader community

There’s plenty of exciting development happening across our wider community—take the time to explore these new and growing areas!

Construction is progressing well on the new shopping centre at Charlemont Rise, located on Horseshoe Bend Road. The centre will feature a Woolworths supermarket and 24 specialty stores.

Closer to us on Horseshoe Bend Road, the recently completed "The Square, Ashbury" has officially opened, offering 10 new tenancies. Keep an eye out for upcoming store openings in the near future!

Meanwhile, the Horseshoe Bend Road and Boundary Road intersection has reopened with newly installed traffic lights, replacing the former roundabout. This intersection borders Stockland’s Banksia master-planned community, which has also completed a significant wetland precinct extending toward Barwon Heads Road.
