Aviation park takes off at Stockland's The Grove

19 March 2018

Dozens of children jumped into the pilot’s seat to help launch an aviation-themed park at Stockland’s The Grove community in Tarneit on Saturday, 17 March.

The exciting new play space, which celebrates all things airborne, is the third park to be delivered to the masterplanned community and features a large cargo plane, swings, slides and an aviator play panel.

Jacklynn Kent, Development Manager at Stockland, said more than 100 local families turned out for the Aviation Park’s grand opening from 10am to 1pm – jumping at the chance to test the playground and enjoy a variety of free activities.

“We are delighted with the response from Saturday’s grand opening and we expect the Aviation Park to become a favourite for local families,” Ms Kent said.

“The local community has had a strong input into this park from the very beginning, first voting on the park’s theme and then voting on the name of the playground’s feature cargo plane.

“To see that level of enthusiasm from both The Grove residents and nearby families is heart-warming and we hope the Aviation Park becomes a place for friends to meet and new community connections to be made.”

During Saturday’s grand opening, children were treated to a free paper plane making and decorating workshop followed by a paper plane flying competition.

Adults were able to relax in the designated First Class Lounge which provided free coffee and a chance to have a three minute neck and shoulder massage.

The Grove also features the treehouse themed Banyan Park on Banyan Way, which includes climbing towers and a multi-use court, and The Growling Grass Frog playground.
